Day 56 - Good Posture

Well I’m still on my journey of weight loss, I have fore sure plateaued and I’m still working on getting unstuck. But on my journey of looking for ways to get unstuck, I have come across how important my posture is for not only the strain and fatigue it puts on me on a daily basis but also the limitation it causes.

So the first step to breaking bad posture is becoming aware of it. Step one done.

Step 2, educate yourself on posture or if you are not into spending time reading go to a chiropractor or personal trainer and ask to have a posture assessment, and ask them for exercises to help fix the issue.

Step 3, Now that you are aware of your individual posture issues it’s time to do the exercises. That is really the gist of it and I truly think it will help a lot.

Here are just a couple things I learned on my journey with the importance of posture.

The most impressive thing I’ve noticed and read is in regards to how bad posture limits your oxygen intake and for anyone doing sports you know how important it is to have oxygen. Oxygen is the most vital thing to us and limiting your oxygen and carbon dioxide exchange is detrimental.

Other things like balance are improved with better posture and when you have better balance this results in fewer injuries. Poor posture is not just about a poor habit of slouching it can result from other things like, inflexible muscles that decrease range of motion, or limits you from doing an exercise correctly. Also things like pinch nerves, headaches, poor digestion and even something as basic as yourself esteem can all be affected by posture.

Doing exercises for posture does not need to be hard or time consuming. Do a little bit of research or train with a really good personal trainer and they will set you on the right path.

Posture is the key to a strong foundation.
